Can I leave the Domaine de Chantilly and re-enter later in the day?

Same day re-admission is  possible upon presentation of admission ticket. The ticket is valid for an entire day.

How can I avoid queueing up at the entrance?

We recommend purchasing tickets from our online ticket office.

How much time will I need to visit the domain?

The visit takes at least half a day. We recommend taking an entire day at the Domain of Chantilly (chateau, grounds, great stable).

Are guided tours available?

Where are ticket sales points located at the Domain of Chantilly?

You can purchase your tickets at the ticket desks located at the entrance to the chateau and that of the great stables. Ticket vending machines are also available at both 

What means of payment are accepted at ticket desks and ticket vending machines?

Tickets purchased at ticket desks and ticket vending machines can be paid for with cash, by cheque, with French holiday vouchers (ANCV) and with bank cards. French cultural cheques are not accepted. American Express cards are accepted at ticket desks and ticket vending machines.

Is entrance to the Domain of Chantilly free on the 1st Sunday of each month?

The Domain of Chantilly is a private domain, for this reason entrance is not free on the 1st Sunday of each month.

What is the minimum number of people necessary to avail of a group rate?

Group rates are available for groups of 20 people and more, this rate is only available at on-site ticket offices and vending machines.

Are pets allowed in the Domain of Chantilly?

For safety and cleanliness reasons, pets are not allowed in the Domaine de Chantilly, even when they are small, in a basket or on a leash.

Am I allowed take photos in the Chateau?

Photos are allowed in the chateau without flash or tripod.

Am I allowed take photos in the Great Stables?

Photos and are not allowed under the dome of the Great Stables during equestrian shows and presentations. Photos are allowed in the museum of the horse without flash or tripod.

What is the difference between an equestrian show and a dressage demonstration?

The equestrian presentations enable visitors to discover the dressage secrets of the Great Stables riders via a 30-minute educational demonstration. The equestrian show stages a performance with the horses of the Great Stables riders, who are usually in costume. It is approximately 1 hour long and generally tells a story. See programme.

Is payment for online bookings secure?

Online payment on our website is 100 % secure.

Once I have booked and paid for my tickets online, how do I receive them?

Tickets must be printed at home. No duplicata will be issued on your arrival at the domain.

Is it possible to change or cancel an online booking?

Admission and show tickets are not subject to a right of withdrawal. Tickets may not be reimbursed, even if lost or stolen. They may not be returned or exchanged. We therefore strongly recommend that you double check the date of show or visit chosen.

Where can I find directions to get to the Domain of Chantilly by car?

The Domain of Chantilly is less than one hour from Paris (40 minutes)
Northern Motorway (A1)
– from Paris: exit Chantilly
– from Lille: exit Survilliers
Or RN 16 or RN 17

How can I get to the domain if I do not have my own means of transport?

A TER train runs from Paris-Gare du Nord to Chantilly-Gouvieux (25 min). To get to the domain from Chantilly-Gouvieux train station, there are several options: taxi, DUC shuttle or on foot (about 20 minutes walk).

What is the distance between the Chateau and the Great Stables?

The Chateau de Chantilly is located approximately 800 metres from the Great Stables.

Where can I park at the Domain of Chantilly?

You can park in our visitors’ car park, the daily rate is 3.50€ for cars and 5€ for coaches and camper-vans.

Can I park my camping van in the visitors’ car park?

Camper-vans are allowed in the Great Stables side of the visitors’ car park (P2) in the daytime and must vacate the car park by 21h00 at the latest.

Are there dedicated parking spaces for visitors with disabilities?

Yes,there are dedicated spaces for people with limited mobility in the car parks located near the chateau (P1)and the Great Stables (P2).

Are bikes allowed in the grounds of the Chateau ?

No, bicycles are not allowed in the grounds of the chateau. Bicycle parking (unsurveyed) is available in the car park of the chateau (P1).

Refreshments at the Domain of Chantilly

Is there a restaurant at the Chateau ?

Yes “La Capitainerie” restaurant, located on the ground floor of the chateau. 

Is there a restaurant in the grounds?

Yes, “Le Hameau” restaurant, located in the Anglo-Chinese garden. This restaurant is only open during peak season (from April to October).

Is there a restaurant at the Great Stables?

Yes , “les Ecuries” café (fast food, snacks), located in the cour des remises in the Great Stables.

Do I need to purchase an admission ticket to eat in the restaurant at the Chateau or in the grounds?

Yes, you must have purchased a ticket for the grounds to access the restaurant in the chateau or the grounds.

Should I book in advance?

We recommend booking to ensure a table is available for you in the restaurants.

Are restaurant vouchers accepted?

Yes.

Are picnics allowed in the Domaine de Chantilly ?

Picnics are not allowed in the Domain of Chantilly. The large lawns opposite the chateau and alongside the race course can be used for picnics.

Is there a hotel in the domain ?

Yes, you can book a room at “L’Auberge du jeu de Paume“*****, located at the heart of the Domain of Chantilly.

Visitors with disabilities

Is the domain accessible for people with limited mobility?

The Great Stables and the Museum of the Horse are entirely wheelchair accessible. In the chateau, there is wheelchair access to the large suites and the library.

Are there dedicated parking spaces for visitors with disabilities?

Is there a lost property office at the Domain of Chantilly?

If you lose or find something during your visit, please go to the reception desk in the chateau or the Great Stables.

Is there a small train or golf carts in the grounds of the chateau?

A mini train is available at the entrance to the grounds during peak season. Golf carts are also available for rent, only during peak season.

Where are the toilets located?

You will find toilets in the cour d’honneur in the chateau, on the ground floor of the chateau, in the great Stables, and at several locations in the grounds.

Visiting the Domain of Chantilly with children

Are there events for children?

Yes, numerous events and activities for children are organised at the Domaine de Chantilly: treasure hunt audioguide in the chateau, game booklets, a maze, playgrounds… During our special event days – children’s weekend, horse weekend – free events are organised for children. More information on this.

Is there a children’s rate?

Yes, there is a children’s rate. It applies from ages 3 to 17 for the equestrian shows and 4 to 17 for all other tickets.

Is there a special rate for large families?

A Family Domain pass can be purchased (on-site only) for 50€ (2 adults and 2 or more children).

Are there baby buggies available for loan on-site?

No.

Where can I change a baby and heat a bottle?

Changing tables are available in the ladies’ toilets in the chateau and the great stables. For heating bottles, please contact a member of staff in the restaurants at the domain.

Weddings

Is it possible to rent spaces for a wedding?

Yes, the Domain of Chantilly regularly welcomes wedding parties in various spaces in the chateau, grounds and great stables

Can we take wedding photos in the grounds? 

Yes, photos are allowed, but only in the grounds of the chateau. To take photos in the grounds each guest must have a paid admission ticket for the Grounds.
